West Bromwich Albion are preparing for a season in the Championship after finishing bottom in the Premier League.

The Baggies failed to pick up enough points under Alan Pardew and Tony Pulis, although Darren Moore nearly led them to the most unlikely of escapes, which was enough to earn him a permanent job at The Hawthorns.

Now that relegation has sunk in, the reality of a Championship season will start to kick in.

Moore will turn his attention to the transfer window as a number of his star players will be linked with exits and he will need to be shrewd in the transfer market to replace these players and improve his current options in all departments.

West Brom will be armed with some money from parachute payments but they need to invest it wisely in their squad to ensure they have the best chance of promotion.

Here is a new-look spine Moore could play.

Ben Foster is now 35 and is coming towards the end of his career, meaning West Brom need to consider some younger alternatives as his long-term replacement.

They could pounce for Henderson, 21, of Manchester United after an impressive season in League One for Shrewsbury Town and he would only cost a compensation fee.

With Craig Dawson, Ahmed Hegazi and Jonny Evans all linked with moves away, Flint would be the perfect replacement at centre-half.

Standing at 6ft 6in, nothing much gets past the giant 28-year-old at the back and he offers experience, leadership and a goal threat from set-pieces for the Baggies.

Rather than splashing too much cash on a new central midfielder, this could be a year where Field really comes to the fore.

The 20-year-old England youth international might thrive in the Championship in the same way that Jarrod Bowen did for Hull City and George Honeyman did for Sunderland last year.

West Brom will need a new striker if Jay Rodriguez and Salomon Rondon depart and Hernandez is the ideal capture after scoring eight goals in eight starts for Hull following a serious injury.

The 27-year-old Uruguay international is available on a free and a proven goal grabber at this level, having netted 20 league strikes last time Hull were in the Championship.
