West Bromwich Albion have recently been linked with the ambitious signing of Leeds United star Kalvin Phillips.

Reports claim that the Baggies, who currently sit six points behind Leeds in 5th position, want to sign the 23-year old next summer should they secure promotion to the Premier League this season, and the Whites fail in doing so.

Phillips has been an everpresent under Marcelo Bielsa this season starting every single league game for Leeds, and having already been linked with a move to the likes of Arsenal, Tottenham and Everton earlier on this season, he clearly he has a bright future ahead.

Darren Moore's Albion side are back on track - a run of four games without a win threatened to de-rail their automatic promotion bid, but after going unbeaten in their last five matches, they will now look to gain ground on the Whites.

Here, we take a look at how West Brom's midfield could look if Phillips signs next year...

The other Phillips, Matt, has been one of Albion's standout performers this term.

The 27-year old has scored five goals and produced five assists for the Baggies this season, and will be a massively important player in their quest for promotion.

Having had to operate in a wing-back position for large parts of this season, the addition of Kalvin Phillips could allow Matt to push forward, and not have to worry too much about defensive duties.

This is where Phillips comes into the mix.

Having been deployed as a lone holding midfielder at Elland Road, Phillips is more than capable of sitting back and dictating play for the Baggies, and would be a very welcomed addition at The Hawthorns with the likes of Chris Brunt and Gareth Barry aging slightly.

He'd be such a massive coup for Albion.

Partnering Phillips in central midfield could be Jake Livermore.

The 29-year old has a wealth of experience under his belt, and will be an integral player for the Baggies if they secure promotion back up to the top flight this term.

Completing the midfield four is Kieran Gibbs, who has been another impressive player for Albion this term.

He didn't have the greatest of seasons following his arrival from Arsenal last term, but he's showing his class and pedigree this time around and gives Albion a real balance going both forward and back.

Albion will be praying that they keep hold of Harvey Barnes after his loan spell expires at the end of this season, but if Leicester see him as part of their plans in the long-term, then Bradley Dack should be the man that Albion try and sign.

The 24-year old has been in sensational form for Blackburn this season, having scored 11 goals and producing 6 assists thus far this term, and his form for Rovers hasn't gone unnoticed, with Tottenham reportedly interested in signing him.

However, if the Baggies are showing the level of ambition to sign Phillips, then they should definitely look to also splash the cash on Dack as well.
