West Bromwich Albion midfielder Filip Krovinovic has claimed that he has no idea whether he will be playing for the Baggies next season.

The 24-year-old was Slaven Bilic's first signing after taking charge of the Birmingham club in the summer, joining on a season-long loan from Benfica, and has been an integral player in their promotion push.

Krovinovic has made 34 appearances in total for the Baggies – scoring twice and providing four assists – and helped his side climb to second in the Championship with nine games remaining.

That promotion push has been put on hold as the EFL season has been suspended until further notice and it appears that the Croatian's future is just as uncertain.

Portuguese outfit O Jogo has reported (via Sports Witness) that the Baggies are keen to keep the midfielder but that there is not an option to buy in the loan deal.

Speaking to O Jogo, Krovinovic was not able to shed much light on the matter.

He said: "I don’t know anything about it, I just know what the media is writing about, here in Birmingham or Croatia.

"I don’t know what will happen but it’s clear that every player in the world has a dream of playing in the Premier League.”

Krovinovic has been a regular fixture in Bilic's side this season and you feel he will likely have a part to play if they're to secure a move to the English top flight.

The Verdict

It appears there is a lot of uncertainty about where Krovinovic will be playing next season but his comments do suggest that he wants to be at the Hawthorns if it means playing in the top flight.

Given a €11 million (£9.7m) fee has been reportedly quoted for the Croatian, you feel a permanent deal for him may hinge on West Brom securing promotion to the Premier League.

It's going to be interesting to see how this one plays out.
