After a hugely impressive start to the campaign, West Bromwich Albion loan star Matheus Pereira has been linked with a move to Premier League giants Manchester United.

The Mirror claim that the Red Devils are interested in signing the Sporting Lisbon playmaker, with Jadon Sancho and Erling Haaland also believed to be on their transfer radar.

Pereira has played an influential role in helping guide the Baggies to the top of the Sky Bet Championship table this season - the Brazilian has scored three goals and registered six assists for Slaven Bilic's side.

The creative midfielder has established himself as one of the most dangerous and talented players in the EFL this term, and is clearly enjoying life at the Hawthorns.

West Brom do have the option to make Pereira's move to the Hawthorns permanent, with a fee of £8.25m being talked about.

And in light of this recent transfer speculation, Pereira has took to Instagram to send a rather cryptic message to fans, captioned "always smiling" which suggests how happy he is at the club.

West Brom return to league action with a home clash against Sheffield Wednesday this weekend, after a short international break.

The Verdict

I can't see Pereira playing his football anywhere else but West Brom beyond the end of January or beyond the end of the season.

They have an option to sign him permanently and it would be absolutely baffling if they chose not to activate that deal.

He is such an important player for the Baggies and fits Bilic's system perfectly well, and at the age of 23, he has such a large amount of potential.
