Wigan Athletic and West Brom are both interested in signing Chelsea youngster Omari Hutchinson on loan before the 11pm deadline.

The winger has actually featured for Chelsea in 2023, making substitute appearances in games against Manchester City in the league and the FA Cup.

However, with the injury situation at Stamford Bridge easing and the Blues continuing to add to their squad, Hutchinson is falling way down the pecking order.

Therefore, a loan is seen as the best next step for his development and reporter Nizaar Kinsella has revealed that the two Championship sides are looking to bring the the teenager in.

"Chelsea wonderkid Omari Hutchinson is has loan options on the table to move to West Brom or Wigan. Both would be tough but a great learning curve for the 19-year-old, this one will run late."

This will be the first taste of competitive football for Hutchinson over an extended period as he had joined Chelsea from Arsenal, with his minutes for both clubs coming for their development sides over the years.

The verdict

This would be an exciting addition for either club as Hutchinson is one the many highly-rated talents coming through at Chelsea right now.

Of course, you would naturally think Albion are the better option considering they're higher in the table and pushing for promotion but Chelsea will be thinking about where is the best fit for the player and Wigan may be able to offer more game time.

So, it's one to monitor in the coming hours and it will be interesting to see how this plays out.
