West Bromwich Albion returned to the top of the Championship table at the weekend, as they were held to a draw at Charlton Athletic.

The Baggies have made a very promising start to the season under Slaven Bilic and have put themselves in an excellent position to return to the Premier League - there's still a long way to go, but they're currently seven points clear of the team in third.

Their start has been so impressive, that it's fair to say that Bilic may not feel the need to strengthen his squad in the January transfer window as much as other managers in the division might.

However, that doesn't stop them from being linked with players. With this in mind, here is a round-up of all the latest transfer news involving West Brom...

Mislav Orsic

West Brom are interested in signing Dinamo Zagreb winger Mislav Orsic, according to Croatian outlet Sportske Novosti.

The 27-year-old has scored 19 goals in 26 appearances for Dinamo Zagreb in all competitions this season and has also won three caps for the Croatia, having made his full international debut earlier in the season.

Joseph Masi of the Express & Star has confirmed the reports on Twitter and has revealed that Bilic is an admirer of Orsic, but he has also confirmed that no bid has been made for the player from West Brom as things stand at the moment.

Martin Olsson

According to reports from Sweden, West Brom are closing in on the signing of Martin Olsson. The 31-year-old is currently a free agent, after he was released by Swansea City at the end of last season.

Swedish outlet Expressen (via Insidefutbol) claim Olsson is currently in talks with West Brom over a potential move to The Hawthorns. Talks are understood to be at an advanced stage, so a deal could be announced soon.

Olsson has won 48 international caps for Sweden and also has plenty of experience in the Championship, having played for Blackburn Rovers, Norwich City and Swansea.

David McGoldrick

Football Insider reported last week at West Brom are interested in signing Sheffield United striker David McGoldrick.

The 32-year-old was part of the Sheffield United side that won automatic promotion to the Premier League last season and scored 15 goals in 45 Championship appearances for the Blades. However, he's failed to score in 16 top-flight outings this term.

According to Football Insider, West Brom are hoping to beat off competition from Leeds United and a number of Premier League sides to sign McGoldrick. However, it remains to be seen whether Sheffield Untied would be prepared to let him leave.
