Despite the heartbreak of their play-off semi final loss to local rivals and eventual promotion winners Aston Villa last season, West Brom will once again be among the favourites to compete for a place in the Premier League when competitive action begins next month.

Having recently appointed Slaven Bilic as the club's manager, they certainly have a boss with top flight pedigree, and now they will need to build a squad capable of matching that.

The Baggies have yet to make a senior signing during the summer transfer window, but there has been plenty of speculation around both incomings and outgoings at The Hawthorns.

Here, we round up the latest transfer rumours involving West Brom.

Salomon Rondon/Sam Byram

Following his eye catching season on loan at Newcastle last year, and comments from Baggies chief executive Luke Dowling that the club will sell Rondon this summer, it now seems the race is on to secure the signature of the striker.

It seems that the club currently leading that charge are West Ham United, with Football Insider reporting that the Premier League side will offer make a new £14million offer for the Venezuelan, after the Daily Star claimed that an initial bid - which included the chance to sign both full back Sam Byram and striker Jordan Hugill had been rejected.

It has now been exclusively revealed to Football League World that a fresh bid made by the Hammers for Rondon will once again give West Brom the opportunity to sign Byram as part of the deal.

Famara Diedhou

If Rondon does go, then there will be further pressure on the Baggies to sign a new striker, particularly given the expiry of Dwight Gayle's loan from Newcastle.

One potential option to have emerged is Famara Diedhiou, who has scored 27 goals in 80 appearances for Bristol City since joining from French side Angers two seasons.

According to Get French Football News, West Brom are interested in signing the striker, although it seems it may not be easy for them to complete this particular move. It is thought that recently relegated duo Cardiff and Huddersfield are both in talks about signing the 26-year-old, with a number of Turkish sides also interested, meaning there is plenty of competition for the Baggies to overcome.

Youssouf Mulumbu

Although The Baggies own interest has yet to be confirmed, this looks like a deal they would be able to make happen.

Mulumbu spent six years at The Hawthorns and made over 200 appearances for the club between 2009 and 2015, and is now a free agent after being released by Celtic at the end of last season.

Following his departure from the Scottish champions, one Baggies fan took to Twitter to urge the club to resign the midfielder, with Mulumbu responding by admitting that he would like to return to the Hawthorns, suggesting there could be an opportunity for Slaven Bilic to add to midfield options quickly.
