Even though West Brom are determined to try and ensure they bag a top six spot this season, it doesn't look like Valerien Ismael will be dipping his hand into his pocket again this month as reported by Express and Star journalist Joseph Masi.

The club have been eager to ensure they bag a promotion back into the Premier League but it hasn't gone exactly to plan so far and with the Baggies falling down the table - and potentially soon out of the play-off places - the pressure is mounting on Valerien Ismael.

The club's supporters are increasingly calling for the head of the former Barnsley boss and some extra signings could no doubt help the side in their bid to ensure they remain in top six contention.

However, according to this report from Joseph Masi, the transfer incomings could be all done and dusted for the Championship team.

Instead, it could just be one or two outgoings - and that means that either Ismael is happy with the side currently at his disposal or there is little funds left to be able to bring any more fresh faces in. Either way, it appears as though the Hawthorns could see relatively little action today.

The club have, of course, already added two strikers to their ranks in Daryl Dike and Andy Carroll and they will not want to overload on forwards without sending some out. The only thing that could be taking place then today for the Baggies is a few players being shown the exit door at the club.

The Verdict

It isn't a surprise to see West Brom fairly quiet today, as they have strengthened the area that they needed and they also don't have a lot of money in the coffers.

Daryl Dike on his own can singlehandedly make the strikeforce even better but his injury has also led to the recruitment of Andy Carroll, who could prove to be a shrewd signing until the summer. They've certainly added in areas where they needed to and that appears to be it for them this month.

They should certainly have more goals in them now that they have rejuvenated the frontline and that was one of their most important areas of need when the window originally opened. They've struggled to bag regularly and Dike and Carroll should certainly help them with that.

If they can shift out some of the unwanted players and clear some of the deadwood, it could give Valerien Ismael the best possible chance now to try and have a good go at promotion - if he remains in the job for much longer.
