According to the Sun, Danny Simpson is currently training with West Brom as he continues his search for a new club.

The 32-year-old is a free agent having been released by Premier League side Leicester City over the summer.

The defender is available to be signed outside of the transfer window due to being a free agent, and because of his experience in the highest division, could prove to be a smart acquisition for any side that is playing in the Championship.

Simpson won the Premier League during his time at the Foxes and was one of the key members in the side as they went onto reach the Champions League quarter-finals the following season.

Bilic is said to be helping the defender keep fit by letting him train with the under-23s, and it's yet to be seen whether any further discussion will come from the ex Manchester United player's decision to keep in shape with the Baggies.

The Verdict

It'll be interesting to see whether West Brom decide to offer Simpson any sort of deal, although at this point it does look unlikely.

He's had a great career and will be hoping that he can go on and achieve some more whilst also being able to help the youngsters at his next club. It was well publicised how liked he was at Leicester, and how much he helped Ben Chilwell come through, so it wouldn't be a bad signing by any stretch of the imagination.

There have been various links to different clubs but he just has to keep his head down and keep fit so when he does find the right club, he is ready to come in and perform to a high standard. West Brom aren't really short on right-backs but he could be so vital in the growth of some the younger players at the club, it would be a beneficial addition in my eyes.
