Werder Bremen defender Robert Bauer is attracting interest from Stoke City, Swansea City and West Bromwich Albion this summer, according to reports in Belgium.
The recently relegated trio will scrap it out with Belgian giants Club Brugge for Bauer, Belgian media outlet Voetbal reports.
Predominantly a right-back, Bauer can also play as a wing-back and is attracting attention from across Europe this summer.
The former Germany under-20 international, who also represented his country in the Olympics, played 16 games for Werder Bremen last season.
But the new Championship trio of Stoke, Swansea and West Brom are trying to woo him away from the Bundesliga and to the second tier of English football.
Stoke recently released Glen Johnson and could eye Bauer as his replacement ahead of their Championship campaign, while Swansea will look to provide competition for places with Kyle Naughton (if he stays) after releasing long-serving full-back Angel Rangel.
West Brom right-back Craig Dawson is being targeted by Premier League clubs this summer so the Baggies could also be searching for a new player in that position.
Bauer joined Bremen in 2016 from FC Ingolstadt but now could depart two years later with Club Brugge providing competition, as well as teams from France and Italy.
The German defender seems to be highly rated and he fits the bill as all three relegated teams will need attack-minded full-backs.
With all three sides hoping to push for promotion, the onus will be on them to do lots of attacking so a full-back who can double up as a wing-back is ideal for their style of play.
Bauer is still young and could turn into a very decent player at Championship level, with the potential to improve and become a Premier League star.
