New West Bromwich Albion boss Slaven Bilic has been relatively quiet in the summer transfer market thus far, with just over three weeks to go until their Baggies kick off the 2019/20 season with a trip to Nottingham Forest.

The West Midlands side have completed just the one signing thus far, with Filip Krovinovic arriving on a season-long loan deal from Portuguese side Benfica.

But the Baggies have had to bid farewell to one of their most important players though, with 22-goal ace Jay Rodriguez departing for former club Burnley, for a reported fee of £10million.

But Bilic has insisted that he does not have to rush when it comes to adding fresh faces to his squad, as he continues to put his new side through their paces in pre-season training.

Promotion will definitely be the aim for Albion next season, having missed out on an immediate return to the top-flight last year.

And with preparations for the 19/20 campaign well and truly underway, we take a look at how the players are getting on...

The majority of the West Brom squad have flown out to Spain as part of their pre-season preparations.

After a couple of scorching hot days in the sun, left-back Conor Townsend posted a picture of himself on his Instagram page, expressing how tough the training has been thus far.

The former Scunthorpe man will be looking to impress his new manager, as he looks to move in front of Kieran Gibbs in the pecking order.

Oliver Burke

One player who will be desperate to make an impact under Bilic in pre-season is Oliver Burke.

The winger was frozen out by Darren Moore in the first half of last season, before being sent out on loan and enjoying a hugely impressive spell with SPFL champions Celtic.

The Scotland international will now be looking to hit the ground running upon his return to The Hawthorns, and here, he expressed how happy he is at returning to training with the Baggies.

Ahmed Hegazi

His teammates may be training in Spain right now, but Albion defender Hegazi is enduring a very tough pre-season schedule himself.

The Egyptian international suffered heartbreak in the African Cup of Nations at the weekend, as his side fell to a surprising 1-0 defeat to South Africa in the round of 16 stage.

Nevertheless, the defensive stalwart took to Instagram to show his emotions, after the hosts suffered a shock defeat.

The defender has recently been linked with a move to Aston Villa, so it could well turn out be an ever busier pre-season for the 28-year-old over the next couple of weeks.
