With less than 48 hours to go until the close of the summer transfer window, clubs in both the Premier League and Championship will be looking to complete their final bits of business before the new season well and truly begins.

One of those sides still looking to strengthen is West Brom, with manager Slaven Bilic recently confirming that he would like to bring four more players into the club before Thursday's 5pm deadline.

For that sort of recruitment to happen, however, it is possible that the Baggies may first need to move some players on in order to make space in both the squad and wage budget for those potential new arrivals.

So who could West Brom look to move on so as to create a situation whereby they are able to bring in those signings?

Here, we've taken a look at two players the Baggies could look to offload before the close of the summer transfer window.

Jonathan Leko

A graduate of West Brom's academy, things just haven't really out for Leko at West Brom in recent years.

Since making his debut for the Baggies in September 2015, the striker has made just 23 appearances in all competitions for the Midlands side, scoring once.

With only three of those appearances coming last season - and all of those coming from the bench - it is hard to see Leko getting too many more opportunities at The Hawthorns in the coming campaign, particularly with attack one of those areas where Bilic appears to be looking to strengthen.

At 20-years-old, Leko is approaching an age where he will want to be playing as much regular football as possible, and with that seemingly unlikely to happen with West Brom, a move away from The Hawthorns may suit the striker just as well as it could the club.

Sam Field

This is a departure that looks like it could happen before Thursday.

According to recent reports from Football Insider, Charlton, Wigan and Barnsley are all interested in a loan move for Field, with Bilic open to letting the midfielder leave the club on loan.

Having missed out on a place in the Baggies' matchday squad for the 2-1 win over Nottingham Forest on the opening day of the season, it seems as though Field too could struggle for opportunities this season, meaning this could be a move that benefits the 21-year-old as well.

A potential move to another Championship club in Barnsley, Charlton or Wigan would likely give Field the chance of a more regular run of first-team this season, allowing him to develop as a player at this level, and giving the Baggies the chance to benefit from a more improved midfielder upon Field's return to The Hawthorns following the expiry of his loan move elsewhere.
