West Bromwich Albion will look to pick up from where they left off after a 4-1 thrashing against Leeds, with a trip to Ipswich Town on Friday night.

Darren Moore’s men were at their very best against the Whites last weekend - they had gone into the encounter four games without a win, so the result importantly restored confidence and belief after some terrible performances in recent weeks.

Perhaps the most pleasing aspect of the performance however, was despite accruing a rate of just 28% possession, they still managed to absolutely batter Leeds, which shows just how dangerous the Baggies are going forward.

It’s going backwards where Albion struggle though – they have conceded a disappointing 25 goals in the league this term, and their stuttering defence has meant they have slipped from 1st to 5th in the Championship table.

The club have been linked with Rangers star James Tavernier to strengthen their wing-back areas, but it remains to be seen whether Steven Gerrard will let go of his captain.

A cheaper, and perhaps more proven option could be QPR's Angel Rangel - the Spaniard could be set to depart Loftus Road on a free in January despite signing for the club in the summer.

Albion's promotion rivals Norwich City and Nottingham Forest have recently been linked with a move for the former Swansea defender, and the Baggies should definitely be the club's radar.

He may be 36-years old, Rangel is blessed with plenty of experience and would be a real leader in the Albion camp - he'd also add much-needed solidarity and composure to a back-line that has looked far too shaky this term.
