West Bromwich Albion are still waiting for Barcelona to pay them £230,000 for teenage striker Louie Barry and are now planning to raise the issue with FIFA, according to the Birmingham Mail.

The 16-year-old joined Barcelona back in the summer after a number of eye-catching performances and impressive goal returns for West Brom's academy side.

The highly-rated teenager has featured for Barca's youth teams on a number of occasions so far this season and was supposed to cost the Catalan giants around £230,000 in compensation.

The compensation was meant to be paid in two separate instalments, but - according to the Birmingham Mail - the Baggies are yet to receive anything from the La Liga club, despite sending them several requests asking them to pay.

This latest report states that Albion are now starting to lose patience with Barcelona and are planning to raise the issue with football's world governing body FIFA in an attempt to get the Spanish club to pay up.

The Verdict

This is a really frustrating situation for West Brom and I completely understand why they're planning to raise the issue with FIFA.

Barry is a very promising and exciting young striker. He may be 16, but he was regarded by many as one of the brightest young talents to come through West Brom's academy in recent years.

He could of been the next big thing at The Hawthorns, so it was a major disappointment when he decided to leave the club to join Barcelona.

The fact that Albion are yet to receive any of the money they are owed for him makes the situation even more frustrating and hopefully FIFA will be able to resolve the issue.
