Celtic are set to beat West Bromwich Albion in the race to sign West Ham United striker Albian Ajeti, according to Sky Sports’ Transfer Centre (27/07, 22:31).
Albion are preparing to embark on life back in the Premier League, and Slaven Bilic will be looking to bring in another forward this summer, to provide competition for Charlie Austin and Hal Robson-Kanu.

But Sky Sports claim that West Brom are set to miss out on signing Ajeti, with Celtic reaching an agreement to sign the 23-year-old on a season-long loan deal.
Ajeti is set to undergo a medical at Celtic on Wednesday, with the SPFL Champions set to have the option of making the striker’s loan move a permanent one for £5m.
Ajeti signed for West Ham from FC Basel in the summer after scoring 14 goals last season, but he is yet to find the back of the net for the Hammers, and hasn’t made a single starting appearance in the top-flight.
This could be a blessing in disguise for West Brom to be honest.
Clearly, Ajeti’s wages are quite high and he simply hasn’t justified that since moving to England, having been unable to set the world alight at West Ham.
West Brom need a proven goalscorer who can fire in the goals to help them stay up, and looking at his record in the Premier League, Ajeti isn’t that man.
