Championship promotion chasers West Bromwich Albion are hoping to land Harvey Barnes on another loan deal before the end of the January window.

The impressive young midfielder, who notched nine goals in the opening half of the season for the Baggies, is back with Leicester City and played in the 4-3 loss against Wolves last weekend.

However, according to the Mirror, Barnes could make a return to Darren Moore's men before the window slams shut, with officials and management at the King Power reportedly having reservations about Barnes' potential to make an impact in the top flight.

Barnes would no doubt be welcomed back to the Midlands with open arms should a move materialise, and it would be a massive boost for Darren Moore, who would have been fearing the worst when he lost Barnes just a few weeks back.

The youngster made his move to the Hawthorns in the summer and slotted in to the Baggies first XI with ease from the get go, putting in some superb performances and becoming a fan favourite along the way.

West Brom will be hoping to seal the move in the coming days as the transfer window comes to a close.

The Verdict

This will be massive if it comes off for the Baggies.

Barnes was superb in the run up to Christmas and if he does rejoin then they have got quite the player on their hands.

It's a perfect signing, with no bedding in period required, and he could make the difference in the promotion run for Darren Moore.
