Saul Shotton will pen a two-year deal with Championship side West Brom later on today, as per a report from TeamTalk.
The young defender is a free agent after leaving Bury amid their crisis and it looks as though his career is going to continue in the Black Country.
A teenager, he’s a highly-rated youngster and that has only been underlined by the fact that both Leeds United and Manchester United have also been looking at him.
West Brom, though, are the side that look set to get him later on today with the Baggies’ boss Slaven Bilic clearly also someone that’s willing to give youth a chance – as he has done already this season.
The last point here could well be why Shotton has decided to move to West Brom.
The Baggies have seen the likes of Nathan Ferguson and Kyle Edwards given the chance to shine this year and Shotton will want a bit of that.
He’ll have it tough with the players that are in front of him in the initial pecking order but Bilic has shown that if you are good enough, you’re old enough.
