West Bromwich Albion are reportedly set for contract talks with Callum Morton with a string of League One and Championship sides queueing up to take him on loan next season.
The 20-year-old has turned heads with his impressive performances on loan at Northampton Town in the second half of the season.
The striker joined the club in January and has scored seven goals in 11 games, firing the Cobblers into the play-off final.
He grabbed two decisive goals in the second leg of their semi-final against Cheltenham Town, helping them overturn a 2-0 first leg deficit and secure a place in the final at Wembley – set to be played this evening.
Morton has excelled in what is his first opportunity in the EFL and it looks as though he’s someone the Baggies are determined to keep hold of.
According to The Athletic, talks are planned between the 20-year-old and the Midlands club over a new deal – with his current contract set to expire next summer.
It is understood Morton’s priority is to secure first-team football moving forward and that he open to either staying with the Baggies or moving elsewhere permanently.
The report claims that following his performances at Northampton a number of League One and Championship clubs have made contact with West Brom over taking him on loan next season.

Morton has been fantastic since joining the Cobblers in January and it is no surprise that there are League One and Championship clubs interested in a move for the 20-year-old.
It makes a lot of sense for the Baggies to look to extend his current deal and send him somewhere that he can continue to get regular first-team football.
Given the player’s stance, you feel that would be a situation that would suit all parties involved.
His first focus, however, will be on the play-off final this evening and securing promotion to League One for the Cobblers.
