West Bromwich Albion capped off a solid start to the season with a convincing 2-1 win over Stoke City this past weekend.

A Dwight Gayle double ensured the Baggies picked up their third three-point haul of the campaign and moved up to ninth after earning ten points form a possible 18 after the first batch of games.

Darren Moore’s men now have the international break to rest and recover before a local derby away to Birmingham City when the season resumes.

In this next round-up, we take a quick look at all things West Brom from the past week.

In the win over Stoke, Gayle scored one of the goals of the season from a skilful point of view to get the Baggies going last weekend.

This sensational bit of play made it 1-0 to the hosts in what was a professional performance from Moore’s side, and it even won the Goal of the Day poll on Sky Sports that evening.

The accolades continued to roll in, with the striker, who scored his second and third goal of the campaign, made the EFL Team of the Week after his two-goal salvo.

The Baggies are after a new technical director after the sacking of Nick Hammond in April after the failed appointment of Alan Pardew.

A search is still on-going with chief executive Mark Jenkins flying out with talks with chairman Li Piyue who is involved with the conversation over the replacement.

The search continues with the West Brom hoping to have an appointment soon.

Finally, some late transfer news - free agent Wes Hoolahan is a shock target for the Baggies.

The former Norwich man on trial at The Hawthorns with a view to a deal being agreed.
