West Bromwich Albion have received a boost in their hunt for a new manager with rumoured target Slavisa Jokanovic reportedly keen to return to English football, according to the Mirror.

Jokanovic was sacked as Fulham boss earlier in the campaign after guiding them to promotion during the previous season and has been targeted as the man to replace Darren Moore at the Hawthorns.

Despite guiding them to fourth place in the Championship table, a 1-1 draw with Ipswich Town last weekend led to the Baggies’ board firing Moore as manager.

With Jokanovic having won promotion to the Premier League twice before with both Watford and Fulham, it is easy to see why he has been targeted.

Back on the pitch, however, interim boss Jimmy Shan picked up a 3-0 win against Swansea City to maintain their slim hopes of an automatic promotion place.

Goals from Chris Brunt, Mason Holgate and Jay Rodriguez did the job as Shan looks to land the role on a full time basis.

The verdict

This is brilliant news for West Brom.

The sacking of Moore was ludicrous, but it has happened now and they need to focus on bringing the right man for the job in.

Jokanovic is definitely that man and would surely be the ideal replacement.
