West Bromwich Albion have announced that Grady Diangana will be remaining at the Hawthorns on loan for the rest of the season, following the Baggies reaching an agreement with parent club West Ham.

Diangana has been in excellent form for the Baggies so far this campaign, with the winger becoming a crucial part of West Brom’s attack, helping to add some real attacking presence down the left-hand side of the field, which has seen him score five goals and assist five in 21 league appearances.

The 21-year-old’s importance to the side has been highlighted by the Baggies suffering a dip in form over the last few matches, with Diangana suffering problems through injury, which has seen him miss most of the last six winless Championship games for West Brom.

Can you remember the score from West Brom’s first 12 games of the season?

With West Ham sitting just above the relegation zone in the Premier League there had been some fears the Hammers might recall Diangana from his loan spell at the Hawthorns, but the winger is now set to remain at West Brom to try and help them earn promotion.

The verdict

This is exactly the sort of boost the Baggies have been needing, with Bilic’s side having suffered a dip in form over the last few weeks, which has allowed some of the chasing pack in the Championship to gain some ground on them in the race for promotion.

Diangana is crucial to the Baggies’ attack, which has been demonstrated with the lack of quality they have at times out on the left-hand side during his absence through injury, although he could miss a few more games over the next few weeks after being forced off against Stoke City last time out.

However, that is far better than the prospect of seeing him return to West Ham altogether, and Bilic will be hopeful he can make a swift return from injury, to help West Brom re-find their form and go onto secure a return to the Premier League.

West Ham, meanwhile will be hoping that he can continue to show his quality with the Baggies, and come back to the London Stadium in the summer full of confidence to make an impact for them at the start of next season.
