Marcelo Bielsa has name-checked the four West Bromwich Albion players that Leeds United need to be wary of ahead of tomorrow’s trip to the Hawthorns.

Leeds head to the Midlands looking to stretch a three-match unbeaten run against Albion, who have slipped outside the play-offs in recent weeks.

Three defeats in four fixtures means Darren Moore’s side are playing catch-up this weekend, but Bielsa has been quick to describe the Baggies as the best attacking outfit in the Championship.

Discussing Saturday’s opposition with the Yorkshire Evening Post, Harvey Barnes, Matt Phillips, Jay Rodriguez and Dwight Gayle have all been name-checked by Bielsa.

“I think the best offensive players in the Championship play in West Bromwich.

“They might not have the best player in each position. But if we take, as a whole, No. 15,10,19 and 16, they are the best offensive players.

“If we take them as a whole you won’t find another team with players as good as them”

Moore’s side have outscored every side in the division so far this season, having scored 33 goals, which is five more than Leeds.

Between Barnes, Phillips, Rodriguez and Gayle, they’ve scored 23 of those goals, with the quartet also registering nine assists between them this season.

Phillips usually lines up at right wing-back in Moore’s favoured 3-4-1-2 formation, with Barnes the No.10 and Rodriguez and Gayle leading the line.

The Verdict

West Brom are the best attacking side in the division, there’s no doubt about that, with the quartet’s stats backing that up.

However, their defensive record is poor and Leeds could cause them some problems at the Hawthorns.

Attack will be the best form of defence for Bielsa’s side.
