West Bromwich Albion are lining-up a summer move for Bristol City's Taylor Moore, reports Football Insider.

The 22-year-old is currently on-loan at Blackpool. He began the season in Lee Johnson's first-team and made 21 Championship appearances up until January, when he was sent out on-loan to the League One side.

He's since played eight times for Blackpool and has continued his fine development, and now it's understood that West Brom will make a move for him when the transfer window reopens, with a £3 million bid said to be the cost.

Moore has had to work his way up into Championship contention. His maiden experience of first-team football came on-loan at French side Lens, and he's previously represented Bury, Cheltenham Town and Southend United before this season.

With centre-back options in good supply at Ashton Gate, Moore may well look for the exit with his contract due to expire next summer anyway.

Johnson has spent a lot of money on players like Tomas Kalas, leaving Moore far down the pecking order, and struggling for Championship action.

On average, Slaven Bilic's side have conceded exactly one goal per game this season. He too has a lot of good options at centre-back - the likes of Semi Ajayi, Kyle Bartley and Ahmed Hegazi - but he'll need more depth and quality if his side are to compete in the Premier League next season.

The verdict

This would be a keen signing by Bilic. Moore is a fine player and why he's not been a first-choice defender for Johnson is bewildering, even to Bristol City fans.

The price-tag could be deemed a lot for a player who won't necessarily get in the first-team straight away, but he certainly looks a prospect, and could become a huge player for West Brom in the coming years.
