On the verge of the play-off places, Sheffield Wednesday have had a solid season in the Sky Bet Championship.

The Yorkshire club have one of the strongest squads in the league, and will this year be looking to avenge the heartbreak they suffered at Wembley last season, when Hull City beat the Owls courtesy of a Mohamed Diame goal.

One more win from their final two games will secure a spot in the top six, and Carlos Carvalhal’s side will enter the end of season shootout with a serious chance of promotion to the top flight.

If Wednesday succeed in their quest, the team will hold onto their brightest stars. If they fail, then their better players will surely look to moves to the top flight, where many will feel they belong.

One of those players is Argentinian striker, Fernando Forestieri.

The former Watford player has excelled since joining the Owls in 2015, and has netted 27 goals in 67 appearances since the move.

Such form will alert teams in the top flight to his ability, and Wednesday may struggle to hold onto the player if a big money offer were to materialise.

One club which may be interested in the striker is West Bromwich Albion.

The Baggies boast a solid striker in Salomon Rondon, and a dangerous wideman in Nacer Chadli. Foresteri could be the final point to the attacking trident.

The player has been deployed primarily as a striker this season, but has also proved adept at operating from a wider role.

Adding the player’s creativity and ability in front of goal will add another level to the Hawthorns side’s attack, and Tony Pulis would do well to acquire the player.

At the age of 27, Forestieri will be keen to try his hand in the Premier League once more.

Sheffield Wednesday fans will hope their team will be able to provide this by the end of May, but West Brom should swoop should the Hillsborough club fail to win promotion.

Forestieri’s contract runs until 2020 so the player will command a sizeable fee, but West Brom should pursue a move for the Argentine to add option to their attacking arsenal.
