Burnley will be forced to pay £35m if they are to land Jay Rodriguez and Craig Dawson this summer, with West Bromwich Albion holding out for a multi-million pound deal.

According to Alan Nixon, usually a reliable source of social media, West Brom have set a £35m price for Burnley, who are chasing deals for Rodriguez and Dawson this summer.

Reports earlier in the week confirmed that West Brom had rejected a £25m offer from the Clarets, who are keen to take Rodriguez and Dawson out of the Hawthorns ahead of West Brom’s Championship return.

Burnley will have to add another £10m onto their offer if they are to add the duo to Sean Dyche’s squad.

Rodriguez has been with West Brom since last summer, scoring 11 goals in 42 appearances across all competitions last season.

Burnley are keen to bring the forward back to Turf Moor, where he started his career, along with Dawson, who featured regularly in defence for West Brom last season.

The 28-year-old featured in 28 of West Brom’s Premier League fixtures, chipping in with two goals for the Baggies.

The Verdict

Despite West Brom struggling last season, Rodriguez and Dawson are still good Premier League players, who would improve Burnley’s squad.

Adding £10m to their price isn’t going to break Burnley, and if Dyche is desperate to get the duo on board, you’d expect him to pay the fee.

It will be interesting to see Burnley’s next move.
