Charlie Austin has failed to open his account for West Brom so far this season since his summer move from Southampton.

In completing the transfer, the 30-year-old dropped down a division but it meant that he would be guaranteed playing time in Slaven Bilic's side.

However, this may not be the case unless he starts scoring sooner rather than later. We've all seen his goalscoring ability throughout his career and no one can fault him when it comes to scoring goals, especially at Championship level.

He was prolific for both Burnley and QPR, and will want to show that he can perform on this stage once more and potentially help the Baggies earn a place in the Premier League next season.

It isn't as straight forward as that, and despite having some excellent service around him at the moment, he just doesn't seem to be able to get off the mark at the Hawthorns - something he'll be aiming to rectify this weekend when West Brom take on struggling Huddersfield.

Bilic does have options to bring into the side. He has Hal Robson-Kanu and Kenneth Zohore both sat on the bench with the latter already netting a couple of goals so far this season for the Baggies.

It won't be long before the Croatian opts for a change as he looks to gain valuable victories in the early stages of the Championship campaign.

Is this the WORST West Brom XI from the last 10 years? Let us know what YOU think....

Austin has had a number of chances, where had he had a bit more confidence, he would have buried them. Despite being unbeaten, West Brom have drawn four of their opening seven fixtures, which obviously it is a great achievement to have not been beaten, but you want to win games especially at home to previous relegation strugglers, Reading and Millwall.

It's one of those things that Bilic must stick with, and he has to play Austin, especially in Saturday's fixture against Huddersfield. It's an opportunity to get some goals against a fairly lacklustre side who have conceded in every fixture they've played so far this season.

If he fails to find the net again, then maybe it's time to start thinking about leaving him out of the side for a couple of fixtures to refresh his mind ahead of an important season for the Baggies. He has proven himself at Premier League level, but he must now find the ability to become a key goalscorer once more for a Championship side.
