Darren Moore has managed to bring in Dwight Gayle from Newcastle with Salomon Rondon going the other way.

That is the latest signing for West Bromwich Albion with the transfer window two days away from closing.

Having been relegated from the Premier League last season, changes were needed.

Nine players have since left the club with Moore adding no less than seven as his side reach a transitional period to re-adjust to the Championship.

This was evident in their 2-1 loss to Bolton Wanderers at the Hawthorns this past weekend.

The season opener defeat shouldn’t bare too much significance in the overall scheme of the campaign, but it highlighted the need to add.

And to bring in more players, the club will need to balance their books and offload accordingly.

With the transfer window slamming shut at 5pm on Thursday evening, the Baggies have until then to conclude business inbound and outbound.

Here are two players the Championship side should look to offload before the deadline passes.

Dawson wants to leave the club and was not involved in the season opener this past weekend.

There were eyebrows raised when he was included in a pre-season friendly after handing in a transfer request earlier in the summer.

He won’t play and is a valuable asset on big wages.

Sell now to get the most out of the player and use the money for either a last-minute signing.

Failing a permananet signing, Moore should bide his time for the loan window, which is open until August 31.

Dwight Gayle’s arrival might signal the end of the Wales international time at The Hawthorns.

Robson-Kanu had a mediocre game at best on the weekend, and his performance looked like one that showed disinterest to the cause.

Bringing the Newcastle United striker means competition for places becomes fierce.

Does the 29-year-old have the appetite to fight for his place in a division he does not want to be in?

Time will tell, if there is any doubt about a player’s commitment, however, West Brom should sell.
