It's fair to say that Hull City have a proven track record when it comes to giving players that platform to go on to bigger and better things.

A classic example of this is Andy Robertson, with the Scottish full-back making 115 appearances for the Tigers in his time with the club.

His impressive performances didn't go unnoticed either, with Liverpool signing Robertson back in the summer of 2017.

He has gone on to be a regular in the Liverpool team, and has played his part in their Champions League win last season, as well as being heavily involved as the Reds edge closer to a long-awaited Premier League title this term.

Speaking in an interview with The Athletic, former Hull City midfielder Jake Livermore issued a hilarious insight into playing alongside Robertson, and claimed that the left-back has a toe that is facing the wrong way.

"I remember looking at his feet once and saying, "Blimey, what happened to them?" All his toes were facing the wrong way!"

"I started making a bit of a thing out of it, as a bit of friendly banter to get him involved with the other boys and get him on board.

"Then all of a sudden we were doing a bit of crossing and… wow. I found myself saying, "Has that come off that dodgy toe that’s facing the other way?" I watched him whipping them in every day and little “manky foot” was unbelievable."

The West Brom captain went on to praise Robertson, and Manchester United centre-back Harry Maguire, who he also played with whilst with Hull City.

"I am so happy to see him doing so well at Liverpool. He’s one of those boys, like Harry Maguire, whom you play alongside and just want to see doing well because they have no ego and get on with their work."

The Verdict:

What a player Robertson has become.

He's a player that is likely to be one of the first names on Jurgen Klopp's team-sheet at the moment, and it's clear to see why.

The Scotsman is a threat at both ends of the pitch, and his delivery with crosses into the box is something special for a left-back. With both him and Trent Alexander-Arnold flying down the wing for Liverpool, it's no surprise to see them running away with the Premier League title.

Livermore will be hoping that he can finish this year's campaign strongly, as West Brom look to make a timely return back into the top-flight under the guidance of Slaven Bilic.
