West Brom, Middlesbrough, Stoke City, Coventry City and Reading are the latest Championship clubs to register their interest in exciting Newcastle United midfielder Elliot Anderson, as per a report from TEAMtalk.

A report from The Mirror (3/4/2022, page 70) claimed that Nottingham Forest, QPR and Preston North End are currently monitoring the 19-year-old's progression, whilst Millwall have also been credited with an interest.

Luton Town nearly struck a loan agreement with the Premier League club in January, however, the Hatters opted against making a move for the talented attacking midfielder because the deal would not have included an option to buy.

Instead, the teenager joined Bristol Rovers temporarily at the end of the January transfer window, with Anderson netting six goals and providing a further three assists in 18 fourth tier outings.

Anderson's arrival at the Memorial Ground has coincided with the Gas mounting a serious promotion push.

The verdict

The fact that nearly half of the Championship are now after the exciting midfielder's services provides somewhat of an indication to the kind of talent and potential that he has.

Often described being a level above within the Newcastle academy, this notion of Anderson being the best player on the pitch has transferred over to his first stint in senior football.

Providing attacking threat from an attacking modified position, and out on the wings, the 19-year-old is someone who will cause all sorts of chaos with his jinking runs and excellent final ball.

There are a lot of factors in play when it comes to assessing where the next best destination might be, but as Luton found at, it is unlikely that these clubs will be able to include an option to buy in their respective proposals.
