West Bromwich Albion head coach Darren Moore has claimed he does not know if midfielder Nacer Chadli will be a Baggies player when the loan transfer window closes at the end of the month.

According to Birmingham Live, the future of the 29-year-old, who made just four Premier League appearances for West Brom last season, is still unknown, with no clubs triggering the Belgians £17m release clause in his current contract.

Moore stated: “Things can change, but at the moment Nacer is fit and well and here at West Brom."

“To have a player in the building of Nacer’s experience, talent, ability, is great for West Brom. It’s great we’ve got him back fit.Nacer’s a good player. What he can bring the team could be instrumental. The big thing is getting him back up to speed after giving him that rest mentally. And he’s looking good.”

Chadli spent the summer in Russia representing Belgium at the World Cup, which saw his nation finish third in the competition, gaining the versatile midfielder interest from multiple European clubs.

The Verdict

Whilst a lot of last season’s absence can be blamed on injury troubles, Nacer Chadli hardly set foot on the turf at the Hawthorns last season.

Having the midfielder back in the squad could potentially do wonders for Darren Moore’s side as they look to gain promotion back to the Premier League.

However, they will face a tough task in the closing stages of the loan transfer window if they are to keep hold of the Belgian.
