West Brom's Harvey Barnes believes everything is in place for Albion to win promotion this season, claiming they are a Premier League club in all but name.

The youngster joined the Baggies on loan from Leicester in the summer and has made an immediate impression at his new club. Barnes has been a regular under Darren Moore, starting all six games and scoring two goals.

That has contributed to Albion sitting just outside the play-offs at this early stage of the season but the 20-year-old made it clear that they should be looking to win promotion this season.

"Everyone around the club wants to push for promotion. The team knows what it’s capable of, it’s just a case of taking it week by week. When it clicks, we’re one of the strongest sides in the league," he told the Express & Star.

"By the end of the season we want to be in and around it. This is a Premier League club really, the facilities are top notch. You look around the changing room there are big names and great players."

The Verdict

Albion have a very talented squad on paper but they've only shown flashes of their quality so far this season.

However, it's a very early stage of the campaign and if they do find a consistency then few would disagree with Barnes' assessment that they are one of the best in the league.

But, it's about delivering on the pitch, starting with Friday's local derby at Birmingham City.
