Rekeem Harper is yet to sign a new contract at West Brom after he was made a second and final offer by the club.

The 19-year-old midfielder has been attracting interest from most notably Celtic as well some Premier League clubs. But now a Baggies legend has told him he should stay at the club.

James Morrison spent 12 years at the Hawthorns before his contract expired at the end of this season. Morrison could yet stay at West Brom if a new manager makes him a contract offer and he has urged Harper to commit his future to the Baggies, saying he will be guaranteed first-team football next season which he may not get elsewhere.

But how will Harper be feeling about this advice?

The delay in the midfielder signing a new contract hints he was hoping for a better deal from West Brom or is interested in a move away. However, Morrison's point about firs-team football could factor in Harper's decision as most 19-year-olds want to be playing regular football. Harper may find this difficult if he moved to treble-winning side Celtic or a club in the Premier League.

But at the same time, it is understandable that the player's head may have been turned amid interest from other clubs. West Brom are yet to appoint a permanent manager and this may also be an issue for Harper. Whoever is given the full-time manager's job could factor in his decision to stay at the Baggies or look for a move away.
