West Brom striker Owen Windsor has rejoined his former club Cirencester Town on a month-long loan deal, Gloucestershire Live have reported.

The 18-year-old only made the move to the Midlands earlier in the summer transfer window, after the Baggies reportedly beat off several clubs including Chelsea to secure his signature, with the striker scoring six goals in seven appearances for Cirencester's senior side last season.

Now however, it has been claimed that Windsor has made a temporary return to his former club, with the latest reports revealing that the striker was named in Cirencester's starting lineup for their FA Cup first qualifying round tie with Gosport Borough on Saturday.

Cirencester currently play in the Southern League Division One South, in the eighth tier of English football, and currently sit sixth in their league, after winning three and losing two of their opening five league games of the campaign.

Windsor has so far made four appearances for West Brom in the Premier Academy League this season.

The Verdict

I think this is probably a good move for Windsor.

While it may not be the highest level, I do think that those experience in first-team football will serve Windsor well going forward.

The experience playing against older players will surely help develop Windsor in terms of his physical ability to compete in the senior game, something he may even benefit from when he returns to West Brom's academy side in the short term basis.

With Cirencester also competing at the top of their division, that chance to develop a winning mentality could also be useful for Windsor further on in his career.
