West Brom striker Solomon Rondon has moved his family up to Newcastle in the latest sign that he is keen to force through a permanent move to the North East.

Speaking to the Chronicle, via a report in the Birmingham Mail, Rondon has admitted he is 'settled' at St James' Park following his move to the club in the summer, a move which saw Dwight Gayle move the oppositve way and join West Brom.

Both players have had contrasting fortunes since their respective moves, with Gayle smashing in nine goals already for the Baggies, while Rondon has only recently gotten off the mark as he looks to get in and among the goals for Newcastle.

The Venezuelan striker has never been the most prolific since moving to England, but with moving his family, he is clearly confident in his ability as he looks to convince Newcastle to make his move to the club permanent next summer.

No agreement is currently in place however, and Rondon will be keen to follow on from his recent goals and find a purple patch of form over the coming months.

The verdict

This one never made much sense to me in the first place, especially from Newcastle's point of view, who seemingly swapped the pacey and goal driven Gayle for Rondon.

However, Rondon seems to be confident in his own ability, and it will be interesting to see how it pans out.

If I was a Baggies fans, I'd be keen to see Gayle sign permanently, thus allowRondon to move to the Magpies.
