West Bromwich Albion defender Kyle Bartley has been delighted with the start him and his teammates have been able to make to the season but warns they are not getting carried away, report the club's official website

The Baggies currently sit in second place on 24 points after 12 matches and just one point behind league leaders Sheffield United.

"We're an attacking team, that's how the boss has set us out to play," Bartley said.

"And obviously it's working at the moment.

"But there's a long way to go, it's a long season and nobody's getting carried away. We'll take it game by game."

Darren Moore's side are the division's top scorers this season with 31 goals nine more than the Blades who have scored the second most out of the 24 sides.

Bartley moved to the Hawthorns in the summer transfer window from Swansea City for £4.05million and has been an integral member of Moore's side, playing 11 out of their 12 league matches.

In their final match before the international break the Baggies came from behind to beat struggling Reading 4-1 at home to ensure they go into the international break on a high.

The verdict

Bartley is spot on and if there is one league in the world where the opening 12 games of a season can quickly become irrelevant it is the Championship.

Moore is still a relatively inexperienced manager so it will be interesting to see how he manages the club and their expectations over the next few months.

But the Baggies are looking very, very good and are unsurprisingly one of the favourites to go up at the moment.
