West Brom midfielder Jake Livermore has endured a tough couple of seasons but the midfielder's latest comments suggest that he is fully focused on enjoying his football this season.

The former Tottenham player suffered a personal tragedy when his newborn child died during infancy during his time at Hull City which led to an altercation with a fan who taunted Livermore over the incident.

But Livermore has put his troubles behind him and insists he remains focused on enjoying his football this season with the Baggies who are chasing promotion.

'I've found my love for football again,” Livermore told the Express & Star. Even on days like Saturday I won't be too down.

'I'm more disappointed and frustrated than anyone, believe me, but it's football. That's why we love it.

The 28-year-old has been ever-present in Darren Moore's side this season and he will be confident of retaining his place in the West Brom side this season.

Livermore was full of praise for the Baggies manager, and described him as 'a good guy'.

'He's just a good guy more than anything else. We've got a team structure and he allows us to do what we're good at.'

The central midfielder has seven international caps for England and praised his Albion teammates for their impressive performances that see West Brom just a single point off top-spot.

'My form’s been okay but it helps when you've got a back three who are doing really well, and you've got Harvey Barnes and the two lads up front as well as the wingers.'

The Verdict:

Livermore is one of those players whose work often goes unnoticed but he does a considerable amount of work off the ball in this West Brom side.

He has been a crucial member of Darren Moore's starting XI this season and is an excellent option to have sitting in front of the Baggies defensive three to provide cover to an attacking looking West Brom side.

Livermore's West Brom teammates will be hoping they can bounce back from a disappointing display against Wigan where they were defeated 1-0, and the midfielder will hope to return to action for their match against Blackburn Rovers after receiving a red card in the defeat to Wigan, which means he is suspended for the game on Wednesday against Derby.
