West Brom reportedly maintain their interest in signing Rangers defender Connor Goldson heading into the summer transfer window according to Football Insider

Goldson has previously been linked with a move to The Hawthorns in the January transfer window, although a move failed to materialise for one reason or another.

The 27-year-old has made 51 appearances in total for the Gers this season, as they continue to compete in the Europa League. Their league campaign has been concluded early due to recent events, although Steven Gerrard's side were unlikely to catch rivals Celtic in the race for the title.

A move to West Brom could be a tempting proposition for Goldson as well, with the Baggies well in contention to challenge for a timely promotion back into the Premier League.

Slaven Bilic's side are currently sat second in the Championship, and are six points clear of third-placed Fulham with just nine matches remaining in this year's campaign.

Goldson has made 105 appearances for Rangers in total since arriving from Brighton and Hove Albion on a four-year deal back in the summer of 2018.

The Verdict:

Rangers face a real battle to keep hold of Goldson it seems.

West Brom's interest in landing his signature just isn't going away anytime soon, and it'll be interesting to see whether Steven Gerrard's side open contract talks with him over a new deal in the near future.

The Baggies are a team that are heading in the right direction under the management of Slaven Bilic, and the defence is certainly an area that needs to be added to in the summer transfer window.

Goldson would be more than capable of challenging for a spot in the starting XI if he signed for the club.
