West Brom are searching for a chief scout as they look to improve their recruitment team ahead of the January window.

Albion's sporting and techncial director Luke Dowling told the Express & Star that they want a key figure to oversee the six full-time scouts that currently work at the club.

He added that an appointment should be confirmed in a few weeks and outlined the plans Albion have moving forward.

"We're looking to appoint a chief scout in the coming weeks to head that department up."

"Once that person's in then I'll sit down with them and discuss what other scouts we want in other areas of this country and Europe, and then we'll slowly build it without it becoming too vast and too big."

Dowling had also revealed today that Albion shouldn't be 'scared' of losing key players in upcoming windows, highlighting how important recruitment will be to the Baggies in the future.

Darren Moore's men have been superb in the Championship this season and they're currenly second in the league after a bright start.

This is a very progressive move from West Brom and it should please fans that they are looking to expand such a crucial area of the football club.

Recruitment is so important to any club and with such fierce competition for players, you need to be a step ahead if possible.
