West Brom are reportedly eyeing up a move for Scunthorpe United defender Conor Townsend.

According to the Birmingham Mail, the Baggies are keen to add the 25-year-old to their squad after he impressed for the Iron last season, and West Brom manager Darren Moore is reportedly keen on adding the left back to his ranks.

Townsend joined Scunthorpe back in 2015 when he was released by Hull City, and he continued to impress since then, improving season on season and becoming a key man for the Lincolnshire club.

Scunthorpe manager Nick Daws confirmed in the report that the club have had some interest for Townsend, with the Birmingham Mail also crediting Hull City with having an interest in bringing their former player back to the club.

Townsend would no doubt be keen to make a move to the Hawthorns if a fee can be agreed between the clubs, and a the chance of playing for a club who is likely to be challenging towards the top end of the Championship could well be something too good to turn down.

Baggies fans, what do you make of this? Would a new left back be welcomed into the club? Let us know your thoughts in the comments!
