West Bromwich Albion have been linked with Argentinian striker Adolfo Gaich, reports TyC Sports.

The San Lorenzo forward has been turning heads this season, having broken into the Argentinian national squad at just 21-years-old. It's made him a target of the likes of Inter Milan, Atalanta Gent and West Brom, who've all allegedly approached the club over Gaich.

He's a £12 million release cause in his contract and with several clubs circling him, and hoping to bring him to Europe as and when the transfer window reopens, it's prompted a response from the forward.

He told the Argentinian FA in a recent interveiw:

"The rumours about offers from European clubs never affected my level of football, because I know that most are just rumours."

At 21-years-old he's still a very young player, but one who's been thrust into the highest-level of football having already featured for his national team.

It'd also be a very different world going from the South American leagues to playing in any of Europe's, but several clubs seem confident in Gaich's ability, and he could yet have the potential to be a world-beater with the likes of Inter or even West Brom should they get promoted.

This move depends very much on that, from West Brom's point-of-view anyway. It'd be hard to see Gaich moving half-way across the world to play for a Championship club, and equally as hard to see West Brom paying that release clause if they aren't promoted.

The verdict

This is a player whose turning heads and it seems like only a matter of time before he departs South America. The best leagues in the world are in Europe and by now it's a question of when Gaich will join, and whether West Brom have the status and the funding the bring him to The Hawthorns.
