West Bromwich Albion are in talks to sign Polish striker Adam Buksa from Pogon Szczecin for £3million, according to The Sun.

The 23-year-old scored 11 goals in 22 league appearances for Pogon Szczecin in the Polish top-flight last season and represented his country at the European Under-21 Championship this summer.

The report states that West Brom have been in talks with Pogon Szczecin for the past few days, with the Polish outfit holding out for a fee in the region £3million.

West Brom are prepared to meet Pogon Szczecin's asking price, with head coach Slaven Bilic determined to add another striker to his squad before the transfer deadline on Thursday.

Bilic took charge at the Hawthorns earlier this summer and has already made five new signings, as he looks to build a team that can challenge for promotion from the Championship this season.

The Croatian is looking to add some more firepower up front before the transfer deadline, after Dwight Gayle, Jay Rodriguez and Salomon Rondon all left Albion this summer.

The Verdict

I've been really impressed with the signings that Bilic has made as West Brom head coach so far, but there's no doubt that the Baggies could do with some extra firepower up front.

It was always going to be difficult for West Brom to replace Rodriguez and Gayle, but Buksa could be a decent signing.

He's an exciting player and an experienced coach like Bilic should be able to get the best out of him, as the striker looks adapt to English football.

I think he's capable of making an impact in the Championship and it will be interesting to see if West Brom can get this deal done before the deadline.
