West Brom have held discussion with Celta Vigo over the permanent signing of midfielder Okay Yokuslu, a report from Spanish outlet Faro De Vigo has claimed.

Yokuslu spent the second half of last season on loan with the Baggies, making 16 appearances in total, although he was unable to prevent the club from suffering relegation to the Championship.

But despite that drop into the second-tier, it seems West Brom are still keen to bring the midfielder back to The Hawthorns for next season.

According to this latest update, West Brom have tried to secure a deal for Yokuslu in recent weeks, and apparently regret not including an option to buy clause in the 27-year-old's contract that Celta wanted when they completed the loan move.

However, the report goes on to state that a number of Premier League clubs are also now interested in signing Yokuslu.

It is thought that West Brom attempts to negotiate with Celta Vigo have so far been unsuccessful, with the Baggies instead being directed to an agency, who are apparently expected to present the proposals to the Spanish side in two week's time.

The Verdict

This would be an excellent signing for West Brom if they manage to pull it off.

Yokuslu was an impressive player for them during the second half of last season, and it would be a big boost to their hopes of promotion if they were to bring him back to The Hawthorns.

However, given that apparent interest in him from the Premier League, it may be hard for the Baggies to complete another deal for the midfielder in the coming weeks.

That being said, the signing of another midfielder in Alex Mowatt earlier this week, does reduce some of the pressure on West Brom to bring in another midfielder such as Yokuslu.
