Blackburn Rovers will not sell West Brom target Bradley Dack before the 5pm deadline tomorrow, according to Sky Sports' Transfer Centre (30/08, 15:52).

Albion had made a late move for the creative attacking midfielder and were hopeful of concluding a deal that would see Dack join the club on an initial loan, which would then be made permanent.

The report states that a £5m deal was offered by Darren Moore's men but that the Lancashire side have no interest in selling their star man.

Dack only joined last year and was crucial as Tony Mowbray's side won promotion back to the Championship at the first time of asking.

He scored 18 goals from his advanced midfield position and was deservedly named as the League One Player of the Year when the awards were handed out a few months ago.

That is why Rovers are reluctant to lose the talented 24-year-old and it remains to be seen whether Albion will have time to look for an alternative before tomorrow's deadline.

The Verdict

West Brom can't really be surprised by this, Dack is a quality player and so important to Blackburn, so they'd be crazy to sanction a deal at this stage of the window.

It would need a silly offer and you can't see that happening in the next 24 hours, so Dack is sure to remain a Rovers player.

They may revisit this in January, but there's a lot of football to be played by then and circumstances can change.
