West Bromwich Albion have completed the signing of West Ham United forward Grady Diangana.

The 21-year-old, who has joined the Baggies on a season-long loan, reunites with Slaven Bilic, who was the West Ham manager when the winger signed his first professional contract.

Diangana is a product of the West Ham academy and has progressed through the Hammers youth sides.

He made his senior debut in 2018 and has gone on to make 21 appearances for the Premier League club, scoring twice and providing one assist.

Speaking on the club website, sporting and technical director Luke Dowling said: “Grady comes with good Premier League experience but he’s now at this early stage of his career where he needs to get good, regular game time.

“He is direct with his running, has good ability and will be another exciting addition to our squad.”

Diangana is the Baggies sixth signing of the summer after the additions of Filip Krovinović, Kenneth Zohore, Semi Ajayi, Darnell Furlong, and Romaine Sawyers.

The Baggies look as if they may not be done, as they have reportedly agreed a deal for Southampton striker Charlie Austin.

The Verdict

In the absence of Dwight Gayle and Jay Rodriguez, last season’s top scorers, it was important that West Brom added more attacking talent before the window closes and this deals signal they have done just that.

Diangana will likely be hungry to get an extended run of first-team football, which he should be given at the Hawthorns.

You have to think that the Bilic link has had a lot to do with this move, which should mean he is a player the Croatian coach has a lot of faith in.
