West Bromwich Albion defender Semi Ajayi has sent a message to Baggies fans after scoring his first goal for the club.

Ajayi popped up to convert an 79th-minute corner and grab the equaliser at Craven Cottage after Anthony Knockaert opened the scoring for Fulham just after half-time.

The game ended one-all and Slaven Bilic will likely be the happier manager, given that his team were away from home.

The Nigerian defender arrived at the Hawthorns this summer from Rotherham United for a reported fee of £1.5 million.

Due to the injury of Ahmed Hegazi, Ajayi has played every minute of every game for West Brom at centre-back this season.

The 25-year-old had a fantastic scoring record in his spell with the Millers, scoring 13 goals over the past two seasons.

Following the game,

The result means West Brom stay in the top-six and are just one point shy of the automatic promotion places.

Slaven Bilic's side are unbeaten in the league this season and face a visit from struggling Huddersfield Town next Sunday.

The Verdict

Ajayi is proving a fantastic signing for the Baggies and looks like an absolute bargain.

The centre-back has settled really well at the heart of the West Brom defence and scoring his first goal should give him a huge confidence boost.

West Brom fans will no doubt be hoping he can build on this and recreate the goalscoring form he has shown over the past few years for Rotherham.

They should love this message from Ajayi as it shows he is enjoying life with the Baggies and appears to have fully bought into the club.
