The race for the Championship play-offs is seriously beginning to hot-up with results in recent weeks turning the race on its head.

West Bromwich Albion are comfortably wedged in there, but with their managerial situation still yet to be sorted, instability remains.

Darren Moore was sacked as manager just over a month ago now and they remain under the stewardship of stand-in Jimmy Shan as the hunt continues.

But it has not exactly gone badly under Shan, with the Baggies winning all three of their matches so far, seeing off Swansea, Brentford and Birmingham City.

And the players themselves are also happy with the job that their stand-in boss, with more experienced members of the squad speaking favourably of his impact, reports Rob Dorsett of Sky Sports News.

But how should the fans feel with their players’ stance?

I think they should be concerned.

This is the same path that Moore followed into the job, after winning the plaudits of the team, and it did not exactly end well.

If the board listen to the players again, then Shan will get the job and then no doubt lose it soon after as it is not an appointment that the board wanted to make in the first place.
