West Brom are looking for a new striker this summer and are interested in Numancia forward Guillermo.
The 25-year old was a key player for the Spanish side as they reached the play-off final in La Liga 2 last season but they failed to get the win over two legs that would’ve taken them to the top-flight.
Despite his importance to the team, the former Athletic Bilbao man only netted nine goals in 41 games.
Nevertheless, according to Birmingham Live, Darren Moore is considering a move for the striker as he looks to add to his squad.
Whilst they currently have a few options up top, there is a strong possibility that Salomon Rondon will leave, with the former Zenit striker having a £16.5m release clause following Albion’s relegation.
Additionally, Jay Rodriguez is attracting a lot of interest from former club Burnley who have already had a bid turned down for the player.
Therefore, Moore knows he could be forced to turn to the market and Guillermo is said to be one of the names on his list of potential replacements.
You have to say the Numancia man doesn’t have the best goalscoring record at all, either at his current club or over the years, and West Brom could surely be doing better.
He does have more to his game than just goals and wouldn’t command a big fee but in such a key position Albion should be looking for better.
Whether this deal happens remains to be seen but there appears to be better options out there for Moore.
