West Brom expected to listen to offers for 27-year-old this summer

West Bromwich Albion are expected to listen to offers for Callum Robinson this summer, according to a report from The Athletic.

It is understood that Robinson could be moved on in order to make way for some reinforcements.

The Republic of Ireland international’s current deal at The Hawthorns is set to run until 2025 and thus the Baggies could potentially secure a reasonable fee for him if he attracts interest from elsewhere.

Although Robinson did struggle with his consistency at times last season, he still managed to produce some encouraging displays in the Championship.

As well as scoring seven goals for the Baggies at this level, the former Preston North End man chipped in with nine assists in 43 league appearances.

During the latter stages of the campaign, Robinson was deployed primarily as a substitute as he only started one of the club’s final seven games.

Having meandered their way to a 10th place finish in the Championship standings, West Brom will be keen to push on under the guidance of manager Steve Bruce when the new campaign gets underway in July.

Bruce has already bolstered his squad by securing the services of John Swift on a free transfer and will be keen to make more moves in the coming weeks.

The Verdict

If this report turns out to be correct, it will be interesting to see whether West Brom receive any suitable offers for Robinson in the current transfer window.

Having provided 69 direct goal contributions in the Championship during his career, the winger could potentially attract interest from other teams in this division as he is clearly capable of delivering the goods at this level.

Whereas Bruce will be able to turn to the likes of Karlan Grant and Daryl Dike for inspiration next season, Robinson is a good alternative to this duo and thus letting him leave may turn out to be an error.

Unless the Baggies boss has an adequate replacement lined up, he may find it beneficial to retain the services of Robinson for the upcoming campaign.
