West Brom have learned the price-tag of Benfica loanee Filip Krovinovic.

Krovinovic, 24,  joined the Baggies on-loan from the Portuguese giants in the summer. He's since become a vitally important member of the first-team, featuring 31 times in the Championship and becoming a firm fan favourite.

The Baggies had stated their interest in making the signing permanent earlier in the season, and fresh reports from Portuguese outlet Record.pt claim that Benfica will demand £10 million to make it happen.

Benfica are said to be open to letting the Croat leave in the summer, and a return to The Hawthorns looks his likeliest destination. Slaven Bilic has brought the best out of his Croatian compatriot, who's chipped in with two Championship goals this season.

West Brom currently sit in 2nd-place of the Championship table. They went into this unprecedented 'off-season' having not won any of their last three in all competitions, and Marcelo Bielsa's side managed to open up a point gap at the top of the table.

But Bilic's side remain strong favourites to make the step-up to the Premier League, if and when the season and resumes, and Leeds favourites to join them.

Krovinovic has definitely shown some Premier League qualities this season, and it's a move that'd go down well with the fans.

The verdict

£10 million for a club at the top of the Championship isn't a lot of money anymore.

For where West Brom are heading, and the type of club they want to be in the future, signings like this are the norm, and if West Brom do head up the top-flight then expect this deal to be completed.
