Dwight Gayle appears to be a man in demand this summer and it remains to be seen exactly where he is going to be playing his football in 2018/19.

A player who helped Newcastle get promoted back in 16/17, his form in the Premier League last season was inconsistent.

With that said, then, the Magpies may be open to letting him go for the right price but a loan deal doesn't appear to be on their radar with them rejecting such an offer from West Brom.

And, with that said, if the Baggies want the forward they had better act quick and get something new together potentially because Fulham might just end up in the race themselves.

Indeed, according to the Mirror, if the newly-promoted London club cannot get a deal sorted for Aleksandar Mitrovic they may turn to Gayle.

The Verdict

Clearly, the forward is on West Brom and Fulham's radar though neither look hugely close to getting a deal done.

West Brom may decide to lodge a fresh offer whilst Fulham's interest may only become concrete if and when the Mitrovic deal fails to come through.

With not long left in the window for buying players, though, we could just end up seeing a loan deal happen after all.
